My Grandfather

I was planning to blog about the New Year, resolutions, and goals...but that will have to wait.

My Dad just called to tell me that my Grandfather passed away today. My natural tendency is to say He's gone to meet Jesus, but the harsh reality is that He never accepted Christ as Savior. That today he finally believes the truth, but it's too late. My heart is so heavy.

Please pray for me this week. That as I go home for the funeral that the Lord would give me an opportunity to share salvation with my Aunts and Uncles when we all come together. That in the grief of this moment, God would use it for His glory as only he can do.

For anyone who reads this blog, please understand that the Bible not only says that "today is the day of salvation", but also states that "I (Jesus) am the way, the truth, the life, no man comes to the Father but by me." Salvation isn't gained by good works or a life well lived. It is real. We have no hope of redemption from our sins except by the blood of Jesus Christ. That in the wisdom of God, he sent his son, Jesus, to die for our redemption. His death on the cross is our only hope of salvation. We have only to believe in him and accept his precious gift!

I pray that if you are reading this and you have never made a decision to accept Christ, that today would be the day for you.

  1. I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you have a safe travel. My unsaved grandparents are both declining rapidly in health, we pray constantly that the Lord will open their eyes.

  2. I'm sorry Rebecca. I'll be praying for you and your family.

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show us that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that His life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you." - 2 Corinthians 4:7-12
