New Years Resolutions

I usually don't like to make resolutions simply for that fact that I fall into that vast majority that doesn't keep them. Or I break them within the first week of January. But since I started dating a list maker & goal setter, and listening to Andy Stanley talk about the importance of goals last Sunday...I decided that setting a few obtainable goals for this year would be a worthy cause. So...here goes!

1) Read through the New Testament (last year the whole Bible idea bogged me down and I gave up by the second week)

2) Run a 5k (start small...I'm trying to achieve reasonable goals this year)

3) Lose the rest of my weight and develop a regular exercise routine (Christmas cookies are evil little suckers)

4) Actually go to the dentist and do a routine physical

5) Stick to my budget as close as I possibly can

6) Keep my room clean. (being brutally honest...this is the one room of the house I've always struggled to keep tidy. Everything else can be spotless, but my room for some reason just gets ignored.)

7) Work harder at building and maintaining relationships with friends and family... Love Out Loud

Ok, there you have it. Seven goals. I'll try to do an update on my progress come March.

  1. -like the idea of just tackling the NT, I've done the whole thing several times, but after a few months, you get bogged down by getting your chapters in, rather than getting something out of it

-5k -come run one with us! me, ashley, michah, and emily ran one together last fall and Jim has promised me he'll tackle one once it gets warm

-no comment on not visiting the dentist
