Some Days I Think I'm Old...
...and today is one of those days. I have a slight corneal abrasion on my left eye that decides to act up from time to time. I'm supposed (key word) to put drops in my eye on a daily basis to prevent flare ups or at least keep them minimal, but I did the dumb thing and got lazy about it.
So, this morning when I left for work, my eye was bothering me a little bit. And when I say bothering me...that means it was pouring tears like a fountain and I couldn't open it. Because of this issue, my other eye didn't know how to compensate for it so it was blinking at a rapid pace and hard to keep it open as well.
I'd been on the road for about 5 minutes trying to convince myself it would pass and I would be just fine. Forget the fact that I had one hand over the bad eye and was trying to drive with the other. I finally gave up and pulled into Walgreens to get some MUCH needed eye drops and called my boss and explain that I would be super late for work.
I bought the best drops I could find. Which is actually a gel. I'm talking like the consistency of hair gel. I went home, put the goop in my eye and took a two hour nap. (since keeping my eyes open only proved to be painful) I woke up feeling much better, actually able to see and headed into work.
Ever try calling your boss and telling her you can't come to work because your eye is watering? Sounds lame....
