Weight Loss Update
It's official. I've lost 20 lbs.!!! I told all of you in an earlier blog that I had gained quite a bit of weight between my fast food school diet and then jumping right into a dating life of being wined and dined. Last fall I began my mission to lose it....my clothes were barely fitting and believe me the ones that did were just barely. I refused to buy the next size up and one fateful evening I bent down to pick something up and busted out the seam of my pants. That was it! I called my sister, got started on Isagenix and dropped 15 lbs. Then Christmas came and I Christmas cookied my way back up that stupid ladder and by engagement I was pretty close to that full nasty 20 lbs.
You know how it is. Whatever your weight or size may be, just 10-20 lbs feels different in your clothes and makes you probably groan when you try on that swim suit and think about summer coming. For me, getting engaged was the final motivator. He popped the question and I called Isagenix again. I was NOT going to get married feeling UGH in my beautiful dress and was NOT going on my honeymoon to spend a week on the beach hating my swim suit and feeling miserable.
Isagenix set me on a path to overhaul my diet. I switched out white for wheat in pastas, wraps and dinner rolls, amped up the protein intake, switched coffee with cream for tea with honey, starting cooking a ton of veggies, saying no to sugar and began training for that 5-k. I feel healthier, happier and best of all, my clothes fit again! I pulled out all those cute summer dresses I haven't been able to wear in a couple years and it was like seeing an old friend again.
As much work as all of that took on my part, I didn't do it alone. My sister, Crystal, keeps me accountable still for maintaining and not gaining. Shaun has been supportive from day one, helping me cook, reminding me to make healthy choices at the grocery store and out at dinner and telling me I'm still beautiful to him no matter what my size is. Elisabeth (my marathon running friend) inspires me and keeps me on the treadmill. She's always encouraging me through cramps and coaching me on how to hydrate and push myself. I owe all three of them a lot of credit for all the love, support and motivation! I dedicate those 20 pounds to the three of you. You can have 'em! ;)

ReplyDeleteWell that's Great Really ....I simply like it..!!!!
What Isagenix products did you start on at the very beginning? Are they expensive? I've got to start doing something. I lost all of this weight over Christmas time, but I've nearly gained it all back, and I don't want it! :)
