6 Months Later....

....life has flown by. I have thought a hundred times that "I need to blog that" and it just hasn't happened. So, as usual, here is my long over due post with the best intended promise of more regular posting in the future.

Holidays - Christmas was beautiful! Shaun and I spent several days in North Carolina with my sister and her family and then a few more in Florida visiting both of our families. I think the most difficult part of every holiday is that my family is so huge it's just almost impossible to see everyone and spend quality time with them. Being married only adds to the number of people we love that we want to spend lots of time with and just can't. So, we do our best and make the whirlwind rounds and hope that everyone knows that we always wish we had more time.

Shaun was precious and made a huge sacrifice for me this year. He bought couples dancing lessons for us. The man dislikes dancing about as much as I dislike doing the laundry, so it was so precious to me that he would make such a big sacrifice. I surprised him with a fooseball table that I found an incredible deal on. Well, correction...Shaun really found the deal and then kicked himself all December long that he didn't just buy it, much to my internal excitement as I anticipated his surprise on Christmas day! Needless to say we both were excited to see each others' reactions on Christmas morning!

Wedding Bells - March quickly came and my younger sister Crystal finally tied the knot! She was stunning and her big day was truly magazine worthy! We had such a sweet sister moment where all of us girls were out on the dance floor together. I'll cherish that for a long time. We are so happy for Crystal and Greg and look forward to watching God direct the steps of their life together. I know he has big plans for them!

Life in general - Shaun and I have been BUSY! My work has really taken off with our heaviest volunteer recruitment season well under way. There's been a few long days, but I honestly love what I do. I come home each day with a fresh wind in a my sails and a readiness to go back and do more the next day. Love feeling that way about what I do.

We've been on a yard sale kick lately and have found some incredible deals! We've needed an edger since Shaun bought this house and I found one for $10! Works like a charm! Then a couple weeks ago I hit the jackpot on some patio furniture. We paid $65 for a set in EXCELLENT condition and it was regularly about $1,000 at Home Depot. So, I guess you could say we're deal shopping our way to setting up house even more.

Last but not least...WE'RE GOING TO EUROPE!!! I can't believe it! 11 days touring Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome! I feel like I'm living a dream! Since I was a little girl and could first wrap my mind around what it meant that my Grandfather was from France, I have longed to go. I guess you could say his accent and stories over the years spurred that dream on and now it's finally becoming reality with my best friend at my side. Could life get any better?!?!? Shaun has always wanted to go to Rome and we have talked about doing this trip since before we got married... so, several months ago we decided it was time. We're D.I.N.K.s - Dual Income No Kids, and figured it was a "strike while the iron is hot" kind of decision. Two plane tickets later we found ourselves planning the trip of a lifetime! It's been a fun last 6 months of evenings at home sitting on the couch dreaming and planning of all the things we want to see and now the moment is finally almost here. We're running around checking packing lists for the 500th time, making sure we have travel sized everything and all the proper attire...it's going to be amazing and I can't wait to blog about it when we're back!

Until then, love and best wishes to all my readers!
