Dishmans Do Disney!!!

2018

What better way to kick off our new year than with a trip to the most magical place on earth! Shaun and I felt that our family really needed some time away to invest in each other and start 2018 off on a magical note!

Surprising our kids with the trip of their dreams will probably always be one of my most favorite memories. They had no clue when we packed up and headed out, that our destination was more than just "Clermont, FL" - the code we used to talk and plan our entire trip in front of our kids.

I've always been that person that swore up and down I wouldn't be taking my kids to Disney until they were old enough to remember and wouldn't need a stroller. Whoops! I didn't have kids who LOVED Buzz and Princesses when I said all that. So, I'll eat those words with pleasure. I have zero regrets and I'd do it all again tomorrow if I could. There was something so magical about our kids believing that each character was the actual real live version of their favorite characters. So, yeah, go while your kids don't know that Cinderella isn't an actual person. Wait until they can happily skip a nap and be tired, but pleasant. Go at their pace though! Two days of Magic Kingdom with down time was perfect for us. Oh, and being potty trained is a major bonus! Okay, hopping off the "advice you didn't ask for" box.

Here's a few of our favorite moments:

Carter getting to meet Mickey for the first time!

Meeting Goofy! Carter's other favorite!

Charlotte showing Tinkerbell her ballet moves. The whole cast cracked up!

If you have a daughter, go get their hair done at Cinderella's castle. One word: PRICELESS

Dumbo was the favorite ride of Magic Kingdom. They asked to ride him several times.

Watching fireworks over the castle from the ferry boat and telling the kids about the night Daddy proposed on a boat, on the very same lake, watching the same show.

Character meals are the best! I highly recommend Beach Club. We had a lot of quality time with Donald, Goofy, and Daisy!

If you follow me on FaceBook, there's a whole album of fun memories. I never realized just how magical Disney is when you view it through the eyes of children. My heart is so full! We had a blast and I can't wait to go again someday. Our kids talk about Disney ALL the time and this family will definitely be back - hopefully soon!
